Raised in Scranton, PA, Maria M. Bertha graduated from Scranton High School in 2005 before pursuing a Bachelors in Science in Political Science in 2009 from the University of Scranton. In 2012, she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of New Hampshire School of Law.
After graduation, she was admitted to practice law by the Pennsylvania State Bar and gained valuable experience clerking from 2012 to 2014 for the Honorable Margaret Bisignani Moyle of the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas. It was here that her career in family law began as she handled cases dealing with divorce, child custody and relocation issues, spousal and child support, abuse protection, and dependency.
From 2014 to 2015, Maria practiced in insurance defense matters before she went back to handling family matters at the end of 2015. She joined the O’Malley Law Office, LLC in August 2015 and has been helping clients move forward with their lives ever since.
Outside of the office, Maria gives her time to professional and community organizations, including:
- Sitting on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyer's Division of the Lackawanna Bar Association
- Being an active member of the music ministry at her church, St. Paul's Parish in Scranton
- Acting as a member of the Junior League of Scranton
